Summer doing food tour for the British Ambassador to Vietnam

Summer doing food tour for U.S Masterchef Christine Ha

Founded and run by Summer Le, a New York Times featured food blogger and chef based in Da Nang, this tour will provide you with fun and scrumptious experience known exclusively to locals. It will take you to 5 different stops including dessert, all of which are among the oldest and most famous restaurants in Danang to its own resident. As a Danang-born, Summer grew up eating these food and they are what fueled her passion to become the chef she is today and they are considered to be the root of Central Vietnamese cuisine. The tour has been featured in the prestigious DestinAsian, Seriouseats, Lonelyplanet… and is highly-rated on Tripadvisor.

Born and raised in Da Nang with more than 7 years of food blogging experience (her blog has been featured on the NY Times, Hong Kong’s Weekend Weekly magazine, Vietnam News, VTV3, VTV4, HTV7, HTV9, Tien Phong, Tuoi Tre…), Summer is knowledgeable about and proud of her hometown’s cuisine. She and her carefully chosen team will show you everything you should know about the dishes, how to eat them, as well as Vietnamese food culture and local history in general. She has recently became the head chef at her own fine dining Vietnamese restaurant Nén which explores and creates high end, exquisite Vietnamese dishes with the goal of pushing the boundaries of Vietnamese cuisine.

Make sure you have an empty stomach and a full appetite!

Tour details

Each tour covers 5 stops which will allow you to try out about 10 local specialties of Danang. All the restaurants are among the oldest, most popular yet non-touristy in Danang and we pick these simply because they are where we have been eating growing up in Danang. They are the places that truly show what the local cuisine is all about in its purest form. There will also be an introduction and Q&A session with Summer Le at her restaurant Nén at the beginning of the tour so she can share with you her passion and philosophy on Vietnamese food as a chef.

Vietnamese American

They took us to the alleys and nooks and crannies of the neighbourhood for the most authentic Vietnamese food. Very similar to what my grandma and mom make at home

Food is only the beginning – I learned more about Vietnam and it’s storied history and culture during this food tour than I could have imagined

They provide a private car/van to take you around! I just assumed it was a walking tour. Nope! So, you can tour in style & comfort. A real plus!

Hong Kong

We also got more recommendations on sights and restaurants to visit on our own which is wonderful
